Deputy Boedeker got his first taste of law enforcement when he became the first jail medic for Fayette County in September of 1979. He continued with those duties until November of 1996, and became a member of the Sheriff's auxiliary in July of 2000.
Doug received his B.S. degree from the Ohio State University College of Allied Medicine in 1975. At that time, he moved to Washington Court House to become the Director of Respiratory Therapy at Fayette Memorial Hospital, and is presently the Director of Cardiopulmonary and Safety Director.
Being very public service oriented, Boedeker was one of the original founders of the Fayette County Life Squad, and served as president of that organization for a period of time. He became a state certified paramedic in 1979 and a Level I Firefighter in 2000. He is currently a member of the Wayne Twp. Vol. Fire Dept.
In his spare time, Doug likes to travel and do woodworking. Dep. Boedeker says that he is proud to be a member of the department, and currently serves as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
