Deputy Butler was hired in January of 1974 and in 1982, attended the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy where he earned his Ohio Peace Officers Certificate. In 1990, he was appointed as the jail administrator and in 1997, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Then in July of 2001, he was promoted to the rank of Captain. Deputy Butler retired as a Captain at the end of 2004. Dale also served as the instructor for the Sheriff's Jail Linkage System, and has trained law enforcement personnel from Ohio, Indiana and Alabama in it's use. In 1982 he attended the Advanced Corrections School, and in 1997 became certified as part of the Corrections Basic School Command. He is an instructor of the Fayette County Basic Corrections Academy. Deputy Butler is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Fayette County Police Athletic League, and former coordinator of P.A.L. Baseball. Dale currently serves as General Manager of American Legion Post 25 Baseball. Dale enjoys all types of sports and spending time with his family.
