The Fayette County Sheriff's Office Communications is a 24-hour full service division.

The Communications Specialists receive and process all E9-1-1 calls that come into the county in addition to answering the business lines and fire lines.  Fayette County was one of the first five counties in the State to receive wireless telephone call information to locate callers approximate locations on the map by a "re-bid" process, even if the caller is still moving.  This technology has helped significantly to improve the ability to locate callers when they don't know their own location during an emergency.  Warrants and protection orders  are also processed through the Sheriff's Communication Center personnel.

The Communications Division provides county-wide communications services for the Fayette County Emergency Medical  Services (EMS) and to all volunteer township fire departments and rescue, as well as to the Sheriff's Office deputies.  The communications specialists' day-to-day duties are very fast paced and can change in an instant with just one phone call.  Emergencies come in all sizes and the personnel must be able to react quickly to the situation(s) at hand.
