Deputy Hellenthal a 31 year veteran of the Sheriff's Office, graduated from Ohio Peace Officer Training School in 1974 and has attended numerous law enforcement seminars and schools since. Deputy Hellenthal worked full time in the corrections division for 3 years before going to work for a local farm implement dealership from which he retired. George is a member of the Emergency Response Team, is an extrication specialist, and a trainer/operator of the "Jaws-Of-Life" rescue tool. In addition to extensive training in extrications, George has training in Haz-Mat situations, emergency air evacuation with Med Flight and firearms. Deputy Hellenthal's duties as an auxiliary unit include being on the Emergency Rescue Team, transporting prisoners, patrol work and various other details. George stays busy in his private life. His favorite pastimes include spending lots of time with his family, camping, fishing, hunting, woodworking and welding. George also keeps himself in shape by lifting weights.
