Deputy McGarvey joined the Fayette County Sheriff's Office after graduating from the Greenfield Peace Officer's Academy in 1998. Larry's full time occupation is serving as Captain of the Washington Court House Fire Department, and is one of the few who is cross trained as a law enforcement officer and firefighter. Larry has extensive training in arson investigations. Deputy McGarvey is a certified scuba diver, and enjoys putting this skill to use as both a recreational pastime and dive team member for the fire department.
