PURSUIT/ACCIDENT:  A reported drunk driver and a short pursuit culminated in a collision in the village of Milledgeville leaving a path of destruction along Main Street and area residents without electricity for hours.  At approximately 11:15 p.m. a clerk at the True North Shell station on SR 435 at US 35 reported an apparently intoxicated customer entering a 1988 Blue Chevrolet pick up truck on the parking lot.  Upon the arrival of a Sheriff's deputy moments later, the truck was seen pulling from the parking lot and went eastbound on SR 435.  The Sheriff's deputy activated his emergency lights in an attempt to pull the truck over near the intersection of SR 729.  The truck turned into a private drive, as if to stop then turned into the yard of the residence and re-entered the roadway.  The truck turned onto SR 729 at a high rate of speed and entered the village of Milledgeville.  The driver lost control of the truck traveling left of center striking a parked car.  The truck traveled across the roadway and struck a street sign, a stop sign, and a utility pole.  As the truck continued out of control, it struck another utility pole and two pine trees.  The truck then struck another stop sign and crashed into the side of a garage at 8293 Main Street.  The truck came to rest partially inside the garage causing extensive damage to the structure.  The rear axle, wheels, and drive shaft were sheared from the multiple impacts and were strewn along Main Street, closing the roadway for hours.  The driver of the truck fled the scene on foot.  Witnesses identified the driver as 29 year old Dustin Trotter, of 5509 Palmer Road, Washington C.H., Ohio.  The owner of the pick up truck, Aubrey Peyton, also of 5509 Palmer Road was contacted and has denied any subsequent contact with Trotter.  Sheriff's deputies have filed numerous arrest warrants for Dustin Trotter including fleeing and eluding.  Anyone with information on Trotter's whereabouts are encouraged to contact the Sheriff's Office at 740-335-6170.

BURGLARY/THEFT:  Richard Buhrman reported that person(s) unknown entered his residence on Peddicord Avenue and removed prescription medications from his home.  A suspect was named and the incident is under investigation.

BREAKING & ENTERING/THEFT/CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  Ernest Payton of Jeffersonville reported that person(s) unknown entered a barn at his residence on Wentz Rd and removed 12 volt batteries from some farm equipment.  Further examination revealed that the cables were damaged to facilitate the crime.

THEFT:   Kenneth Kirk of New Holland, Ohio reported that person(s) unknown damaged a plug wire to his golf cart while it was parked at Walnut Lake Campgrounds.

PURSUIT:  A Chillicothe, Ohio man is currently incarcerated in the Fayette County Jail following a high speed chase in a stolen vehicle through Fayette County on Thursday afternoon.  According to Sheriff Vernon P. Stanforth his office received a broadcast regarding a stolen 1992 Chevrolet Astro van from the Chillicothe Police Department.  Additional information was later received that the stolen van was a suspect vehicle in a theft offense in the City of Lebanon in Warren County, Ohio.  While on patrol, a deputy observed the stolen vehicle traveling east on US Route 35 NW and initiated a traffic stop.  The stolen van fled from deputies EB on US 35 at a high rate of speed for several miles through Fayette County and into Ross County.  At the intersection of US 35 and SR 138 in Ross County the driver lost control of the vehicle resulting in a traffic crash just east of SR 138.  Following the crash, the driver exited the stolen vehicle and fled on foot through a field.  Deputies gave foot chase of the driver, apprehending him in a field in the vicinity of the crash.  The driver, identified as Patrick J. Thompson, age 22 of Chillicothe, Ohio was charged with fleeing and eluding a police officer and receiving stolen property.  During the arrest, multiple credit cards not belonging to Thompson were located in his clothing pockets.  The property was found to have been stolen during the incident in Lebanon, Ohio.  Also found in his possession was a checkbook and credit cards belonging to a Dublin, Ohio resident.  Those were found to have been stolen from a vehicle parked at Bethesda North Hospital in Hamilton County, Ohio.  Additional charges against Thompson are pending.  The stolen vehicle was located and the pursuit was initiated at 2:23 pm and the suspect was in custody at 2:41 p.m.  No injuries were reported.

CRIMINAL DAMAGING:  An associate of Hoffman Trucking in Aliquippa Pennsylvania reported that while southbound on I-71 in the area of Hidy Rd. unknown persons threw an object over the bridge striking the semi tractor and causing damage.

VEHICLE FIRE:  The Fayette County Sheriff's Office and the Washington FD responded to a report of a vehicle fire on the rear parking lot of YUSA.  Upon arrival two vehicles were located on fire.  The Washington FD extinguished the fire however both vehicles received damage.

BREAKING & ENTERING/THEFT:  Fayette County Sheriff' Vernon P. Stanforth reported that while on patrol Deputies observed a vehicle departing the lot of the vacant Mac Tool building on Old US 35.  After observing the vehicle, a traffic stop was initiated by a Deputy and the vehicle was found to have scrap metal inside that had been taken without permission.  Arrested in the incident were Brent Adams, age 24 and Timothy Alltop, age 23 both of Washington C.H., Ohio.

THEFT OF A DANGEROUS DRUG:  Sarah Sanderson of Bloomingburg, Ohio reported the theft of multiple doses of Albuteral sulfate solution.

Amanda Sanderson of Washington C.H., Ohio reported that dining at Subway on Leesburg Ave. two known subjects entered the business, taunting and harassing her.  Upon departing the two know subjects then followed Sanderson to her residence on Old Springfield Rd. and continued their behavior.  Sanderson declined criminal charges at the time of the report.

DRUG ARREST:  An undercover operation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Narcotic's unit has led to the execution of a search warrant and the arrest of another Washington C.H. man during the early morning hours Friday morning.

Joshua C. Riddell, of 320 Gregg St., Washington C.H., Ohio was stopped following a traffic violation on Kenskill Avenue at the Old Chillicothe Rd. intersection.  At the time of the traffic stop, Riddell was operating a Suzuki motorcycle, possessing only a novice temporary motorcycle permit, which restricts driver's from operating a motorcycle during hours of darkness.  Additionally, Riddell was found in possession of marijuana, a drug paraphernalia item and a considerable sum of cash.  Deputies obtained a consent to search from Riddell for the motorcycle and also another vehicle he had parked at his place of employment, located at Fiber Tech Industries in the Washington C.H. Industrial Park.  A search of Riddell's 1995 Honda Civic, parked on the employee lot , led to the discovery of a weapon in the trunk compartment of the vehicle.  This discovery led to further concerns , questioning whether additional contraband was being stored in Riddell's employee locker inside the facility.  With the complete cooperation of Fiber-Tech management,  Sheriff's K-9 officer was summoned to respond to the facility to conduct a "drug sniff" of the men's locker room area, with the K-9 alerting to a particular locker which was later identified as the employee locker of Joshua Riddell.  A search warrant was obtained and executed on Riddell's employee locker, leading to the discovery of illegal, controlled narcotics and loaded firearms.

Riddell, 27 years old, was initially charged with failure to obey a traffic control device, failure to have required rearview mirrors on his 2002 Suzuki motorcycle, a violation of his temporary motorcycle endorsement in the operation of his Suzuki motorcycle, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.   Following the search warrant execution , Riddell was additionally charged with possessing firearms while under disability.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS:  Leah A. Wyckoff of Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that a known person has been trespassing in her residence after being told not to enter the property..  The suspect was identified and Ms. Wyckoff requested no further action at the time of report.

The Memorial holiday weekend found Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies busy with thirty-four felony drug related charges involving twenty-three people since Friday evening.  More than fifty deputies from Fayette, Ross, Highland, and Madison Counties participated in the execution of search warrants on four Washington C.H. residences beginning around 8:00 pm Friday night.  Throughout the evening grand jury indictments were served on 19 people ranging from trafficking of marijuana or crack cocaine.  Three people were arrested on possession charges during the execution of two of the search warrants.  Sheriff Vernon P. Stanforth stated at 8:00 pm a coordinated execution of four separate search warrants around the City of Washington C.H. were conducted by the Sheriff's Tactically Armed Response Team (S.T.A.R. team).  Residences located at 120 W Elm St., 727 S. Main St., 94 Jamison Rd Lot 139 and 820 Highland Av. were searched.  Various and undisclosed amounts of weapons, money, drugs, and paraphernalia were recovered.  Three automobiles were seized.  Arrested on grand jury indictments were:  Ashley King, Mallalieu A. Ogletree, Samuel Heard, Alexander Ewing, Julien Gomez, David Pettiford, Michael Faulkner, Adam Phillips, Mark Rowland, Donald Carson III, Clifford Morris, Ronnie Hunt, Jeremiah Cook, Ben Nebbergall, Thomas Chrisman, Hillary Mosier,  Courtney Newland, Katherine Frederick, William Dillon, Chrystal Shadley, Tracy Johnson, Alisha Rinehart, and James Stevens.  The ongoing undercover drug operation was conducted in cooperation with Fayette County Prosecutor David Bender and his staff.  The operation began April 3rd.  Sheriff Stanforth anticipates additional indictments resulting from the continuing investigation.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:  Heather Michael of Leesburg reported that while at a residence on Washington New Martinsburg Road she was assaulted by her spouse.  An arrest warrant was issued for Brian D. Michael of Leesburg, Ohio and Michael was later arrested by the Highland County Sheriff's Office.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:  James Cumberland of Greenfield, Ohio reported while at a residence on Clyburn Avenue to retrieve personal property he was assaulted by his child's mother.  Miranda Dawes, age 20 was arrested and charged in the incident.

THEFT:  Teresa Althouse reported that while she was away from her residence on SR 753 a known female removed property from inside the home.  Sheriff's deputies later located the suspect and recovered the stolen property.  Kirsten Kirch, age 28 of Washington C.H., Ohio was arrested and charged with theft.

GRAND THEFT/BREAKING & ENTERING:  Milton Johnson of Sabina, Ohio reported that person(s) unknown entered his barn on Marchant Luttrell Road in northwest Fayette County and removed a large amount of tools from inside.

THEFT:  An employee of True North Shell at US 35 & I-71 reported that an unknown person tampered with the wiring at two diesel pumps at the business.  As a result, diesel fuel was obtained with no payment being made.

INJURY CRASH:  Tammy Reisinger of Washington C.H. was operating a 1998 Volkswagon Jetta westbound on State Rte 435 near the intersection of State Route 729 when a deer was reported to have ran into the path of Reisinger's vehicle.  Reisinger took action to avoid striking the animal and lost control, traveling off the south side of the roadway with the vehicle overturning onto its side.  Reisinger received minor injuries in the crash and was transported by Fayette County E.M.S. to Fayette County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS:  Kim Hamilton, property manger for Kirk Properties reported that a known female was observed trespassing at one of the properties in Bloomingburg, Ohio.  The female was identified and a referral to the village solicitor was made.

AGGRAVATED MENACING: Kirsten Kirch reported that she was threatened with serious physical harm by a known female subject.  Sheriff's deputies received conflicting statements from the parties involved and Kirch was referred  to the solicitor's office for pursuit of criminal charges.

Little, age 36 of Washington C.H., Ohio was charged with Assault.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE:  Gilbert Yoho of Washington C.H., Ohio reported that while walking his dog in the 200 block of Hickory Lane, he observed an abandoned red Ford Contour.  Upon checking, Deputies found that the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Washington PD earlier in the day.  The vehicle owner was contacted by the Washington PD and the vehicle was released to him.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY:  Gregory Isenberger reported that persons unknown attempted to gain entry to the rear door of his residence on Miami Trace Rd.  No entry was made and nothing was reported missing at the time of the report.

TRAFFIC CRASH:  Jeremie L. Vickers of 820 Highland Ave., Washington C.H., Ohio was operating a 1998 Ford Escort, traveling west on US 22 near West Fork Rd. when he lost control of his vehicle, traveling off the right side of the roadway, overturning multiple times into a harvested field on the north side of the roadway.  Vickers was trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by members of the Fayette County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team and units of the Sabina FD.  Vickers was injured in the crash and was transported from the scene by Med Flight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS/MENACING:  Marcia Matson of Washington C.H., Ohio reported that a known male subject came onto her property on N. North St. and made threats to she and her spouse.  The subject was identified to Sheriff's Deputies and he had departed prior to their arrival.  Contact was made with the male subject and he was advised of the complaints and at the request of Mrs. Matson, to refrain from coming to their residence.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS:  Billie Moore of Bloomingburg, Ohio reported that two male subjects came to a property on Main St. and attempted to removed the chain link fencing from the property.  Upon being confronted by Moore, the subjects departed the area.

DEER ACCIDENT:  Brian W. Lute of Leesburg, Ohio was operating a 1992 Chevrolet pickup truck on Washington New Martinsburg Rd. near the intersection of Miami Trace Rd. when a deer ran into the path of Lute's vehicle.   Lute collided with and killed the deer in the crash.  No other injuries were reported.

THEFT:  Chris Humphreys of Humphreys Video in Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that a kno9wn subject had two video rentals from the business and failed to return the items.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  An employee of Prime Outlet Center reported that persons unknown forcibly pried open a vending machine at the Outlet Center.  It was unknown at the time of the report if anything was taken.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Sherry Lynn Redding of 741 E. Market St., Washington C.H., Ohio was traveling westbound on Main St. in Good Hope when the vehicle in front of her driven by Eldiva L. Jackson of Good Hope slowed to make a right turn to travel northbound onto West St. and was struck in the rear by Redding.   No injuries were reported.  Ms. Redding was cited for Assured Clear Distance Ahead.

THEFT:  An employee of Flying J Travel Center, Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that an unknown person had obtained fuel and departed the business without making payment.  A registration plate number was obtained by the clerk and the incident is under investigation.

GRAND THEFT:  Jeanne Smith of Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that her purse was removed from inside her vehicle while parked at the Flagway on SR 41N.

POSSESSION OF DRUGS/POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA:  Sheriff's Deputies responded  and checked a suspicious person on a bicycle on US 62NE, south of the Village of Mt. Sterling in Fayette County.  During contact with the subject, a baggie containing marijuana and a smoking pipe with residue was located on the subject.  Randy Dyer, age 46 of 10353 Harrison Rd., Washington C.H., Ohio was arrested and charged in the incident.

OBSTRUCTING OFFICIAL BUSINESS:  Sheriff's Deputies were attempting to serve an arrest warrant for a male subject at a residence in the 400 block of N. North St. in Washington C.H., Ohio.  During contact, a female resident answered the door, declining that the wanted subject was inside the residence.   Deputies later located the wanted male subject attempting to flee through a rear door of the residence.  The wanted male, identified as Paul E. Clark of 410 N. North St., Washington C.H., Ohio was taken into custody without incident.  Cissy C. Williams, of the same address, was arrested by Deputies and charged with Obstructing Official Business.

INJURY TRAFFIC CRASH:  A 1997 dodge Caravan, operated by Kendall D. Burge, age 44 of 221 N. North St., Washington C.H., Ohio was traveling east on US 22, traveled left of center and into the path of a westbound vehicle, a 1995 Chevrolet utility van, operated by Michael G. Farris, age 45 of Dayton, Ohio.   Following the collision, both vehicles came to rest in the westbound lane of US 22.   Burge was flown from the scene by Med Flight to Ohio State University hospital with serious visible injuries.  Farris, and a passenger in his vehicle, Douglas R. Blakely, age 43 also of Dayton, Ohio received visible injuries and were transported to Fayette County Memorial Hospital by units of the Fayette County Life Squad.

Members of the Washington Fire Department and Fayette County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team responded to the scene utilizing extrication equipment to free Blakely from the vehicle.  The Washington Police Dept. also responded to the scene and assisted with traffic control.

PURSUIT/ACCIDENT:  A high speed pursuit through four central Ohio counties came to a stop in Fayette County Monday afternoon.  According to Fayette County Sheriff Vernon Stanforth, the pursuit began earlier in the day in Champaign County following a domestic assault.  Champaign  and Clark County.  Sheriff's deputies pursued a suspect vehicle out of the domestic through those counties.  A Clark County Sheriff's patrol cruiser was struck during the early pursuit.  Madison County Sheriff's Office located the suspect vehicle in that county but the pursuit was stopped when the suspect vehicle was lost.  A short time later the vehicle was observed traveling through London at speeds exceeding one hundred miles per hour.  London Police cruisers initiated a pursuit from within the city of London and traveled east on State Route 56 toward Mt. Sterling.  Fayette County Sheriff's Office responded to the northern area of the county when the suspect vehicle turned south onto US Route 62 toward Washington Court House.  Fayette County Deputies spotted the suspect vehicle being pursued by London Police cruisers near US 62 & Dickey Rd.  Washington Court House Police units deployed "stop sticks" on Route 62 at the Washington Waterloo Road intersection.  The suspect vehicle struck the "stop sticks" while traveling almost 100  miles per hour.  While trying to avoid the "stop sticks" the suspect swerved into oncoming northbound traffic and struck a vehicle that had pulled to the side of the roadway to avoid the pursuit.  The suspect continued southbound through the bridge when a Fayette County cruiser initiated a "PIT" maneuver sending the suspect vehicle into a spin.  During a rotation on the bridge, a London PD cruiser struck the side of the suspect vehicle causing the fleeing vehicle to travel into the open ditch area and coming to rest along the property fence.  The suspect, 25 year old Matthew Kelly Clark of Urbana, Ohio was taken into custody at the scene.  The Fayette County Life Squad was dispatched to the scene and upon arrival, Clark refused treatment for a small facial laceration.  Clark was released from the scene to the London Police Department and is being held in the Tri-County Regional Jail pending charges from each of the jurisdictions involved in the accident.  Rayburn Farley of Barbara Lane, Washington Court House was identified as the driver of the vehicle struck by Clark on US 62 and Washington Waterloo Rd.  The Fayette County Life Squad treated Farley at the scene.  Farley's 1991 Mercury sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.  The vehicle driven by Clark, a 2006 Hyundai was also towed from the scene and impounded by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.  A London police cruiser sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.  London Police Officer Brad Aleshire was not injured in the collision.  Fayette County Sheriff's Traffic Reconstruction Team will complete the crash investigation and will present the case to the Fayette County Grand Jury.

Streitenberger of 627 Columbus Ave., Washington C.H., Ohio was traveling northbound on Bloomingburg New Holland Rd. traveled off the right side of the roadway and lost control of the 2000 Pontiac she was driving, flipped the vehicle over into the ditch.  No injuries were reported.    Ms. Streitenberger was cited for Failure to Control.

OBSTRUCTING OFFICIAL BUSINESS:  Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a vacant residence on Clyburn Ave. in Washington C.H. regarding a possible burglary in progress.  Upon arrival, Deputies observed a subject enter the front door of the vacant residence and turn off lights inside the residence.   After numerous attempts to make contact at the residence, the property was entered by Deputies who located a male subject hiding in a bedroom of the home.  The subject was found to be one of the former residents and failed to answer the door for Deputies due to an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  James W. Groves, age 27 of Washington C.H., Ohio was arrested and charged with Obstructing Official Business.

MENACING:  Jessica Ayers of Washington C.H., Ohio reported that while traveling on Creek Rd. in Fayette County, she pulled over due to experiencing car trouble.  Ayers reported that several subjects in a small white vehicle pulled behind her vehicle and exited, surrounding her vehicle.  Ayers departed without further contact with the subjects.  Deputies checked the area, however did not located the suspect vehicle.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Javin Thomas of Washington C.H., Ohio was traveling south on Wentz Rd. in Jefferson Twp. and ran off the right side of the roadway, traveled across the center of the roadway and ran off the right hand side of the road, struck and broke off a DP&L pole.  No injuries were reported.   Mr. Thomas was cited for Failure to Control.

Morris of Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that numerous unwanted telephone calls were received from a known subject at his residence on Maple St.  Deputies made contact with the suspect and advised of the complaint and ordered the calls ceased.  Prior to the Sheriff's Deputy departing the Morris residence, another call was received from the suspect after being warned to cease the calls.  April L. Kingery-Morris, age 32 of Washington C.H., Ohio was arrested and charged with Telephone Harassment.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Robert Briggs of New Holland, Ohio was traveling northeast on SR 38 in Paint Twp. when he traveled off the right edge of the roadway in a sharp right curve, after clearing the curve he then continued into a steep ditch off the right side of the roadway, striking a culvert and overturning.  Mr. Briggs was cited for Failure to Control and O.V.I.

Pate of Jeffersonville, Ohio was traveling southbound on Creamer Rd. north of US 35 when he met a truck traveling northbound.  Mr. Pate drove off the right side of the roadway going into the ditch and struck two traffic control signs.  No injuries were reported.   Mr. Pate was cited for Failure to Control.

RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY:  Sheriff's Deputies assisted the Washington Police Department in the recovery of stolen auto parts taken from their jurisdiction at a residence on SR 753 in Good Hope.  While at the residence, Deputies also located a utility trailer which had been reported stolen to the Washington P.D. earlier in the week.

Hall, age 23 of Hillsboro, Ohio was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication and Possession of Marijuana.

ANHYDROUS THEFT:  Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies were alerted to suspicious activity at the Crop Production Services on McKillip Rd. in Jeffersonville, Ohio.  Upon checking the premises, Deputies located evidence of a theft of anhydrous ammonia.  Deputies also located a subject in a vehicle at the front of the business and also located shoe tracks in the snow leading away from the business and tracked the fleeing suspects.  Two additional suspects were located several miles from the business and subsequently found to be involved in the theft.   Kenneth Bauer, age 61, Thomas Woods, age 27 and Clifford Lee, age 44 all of Brown County, Ohio were arrested and charged with Illegal Possession of Chemicals for Manufacturing Drugs, Theft of Anhydrous Ammonia and Breaking & Entering.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE:  An employee of Knisley Collision Center, Washington C.H., Ohio reported a suspicious vehicle on the business parking lot.  Upon checking, Deputies found that the vehicle had been reported as stolen to the Huber Heights Police Department in Montgomery County.

OBSTRUCTING/CHILD ENDANGERING:  The Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a report of an impaired driver operating a tan Chevrolet Blazer west on US 22 from the Village of New Holland,  The vehicle was located and stopped, with the operator of the vehicle subsequently being arrested for O.V.I.   Inside the vehicle, Deputies located the operator's two children, ages 13 and 10.   Upon being placed under arrest, the operator failed to comply with orders of the Deputies.  Bobbi L. Wilson, age 31 of Washington C.H., Ohio was charged with Obstructing Official Business, O.V.I. and two counts of Endangering Children and was incarcerated in the Fayette County Jail.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS/PHYSICAL CONTROL IN MOTOR VEHICLE:   Randy Hughes of Washington C.H., Ohio reported that a vehicle was observed driving onto the barn lot and adjacent field on his property on Sturgeon Mills Rock Mills Rd.   Upon the arrival of Sheriff's Deputies, the vehicle was located in a farm land with a single occupant.  During contact with the driver, Deputies detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and the driver was subsequently arrested.  Christopher A. Long, age 23 of Williamsport, Ohio was charged with Criminal Trespass and Physical Control of Vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:  Christine Hodge of Bloomingburg, Ohio reported that she, her mother and brother were all involved in an altercation at their home on Wayne St.  All parties declined charges toward one another and no evidence of physical injury was found by Deputies.

RECOVERED PROPERTY:  Sheriff's Deputies were called to the I-71 Rest Area after a motorist reported locating a hypodermic needle lying in the grass.  The item was recovered by Deputies and destroyed.

FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT:  The Sheriff's Office responded to a two car accident with reported injury at the intersection of SR 207 and Cook Yankeetown Road, in Madison Township.  Veronica J. Pollard, age 34 of Mount Sterling, Ohio was pronounced dead at the scene by the Fayette County Coroner's Office.  Donnie Jenkins, age 31 also of Mount Sterling, Ohio and Dana M. Burwell, age 36 of Obetz, Ohio were transported by Life Squad to the Fayette County Memorial Hospital where they were listed in stable condition.  Preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that Mrs. Burwell was operating a 2005 GMC Envoy when traveling westbound on Cook Yankeetown Road.  Mrs. Burwell reportedly failed to stop at the intersection of SR 207.  Mrs. Burwell's vehicle continued into the intersection and subsequently struck the 1995 Pontiac Sunfire traveling southbound on SR 207 operated by Mrs. Pollard.  Passengers of the GMC Envoy were reportedly unharmed in the accident.  The accident is currently under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office accident reconstruction team.

APPREHENSION OF A WANTED PERSON:  Sheriff's Deputies checked a subject on E. Market St. at the Flagway 2 station.  During a warrant check, the subject was found to be wanted by the Clinton County Sheriff's Office for Failure to Appear.  Cecil R. Longberry, age 38 of Washington C.H., Ohio was arrested and released to the Clinton County Sheriff's Office.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:  Sheriff's Deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint at 527 Peddicord Ave. in Fayette County.   During the investigation, Cindy H. Queen, age 28, Joshua E. Queen, age 27 and Brandy R. Cox, age 21 all of Washington C.H., Ohio were all arrested and charged with Domestic Violence as the incident revealed that all were involved in an altercation and reportedly assaulted one another.

INJURY TRAFFIC CRASH:  Sheriff's Deputies responded to an injury traffic crash at the intersection of Old US 35 and West Lancaster Rd. in Fayette County.  David D. Nemets of Parma, Ohio was operating a 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier and pulled into the intersection from West Lancaster Rd. into the path of a 1990 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Darrius L. Hartley of Merrillville, Indiana.  A passenger in Hartley's vehicle, Christopher Squirewell of Detroit, Michigan was injured and transported from the scene by Medflight to Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus., Ohio.  Nemets was also injured and transported from the scene by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.  Hartley reported no injury in the crash.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Daniel Staats of Greenfield, Ohio was traveling southeast on Greenfield Sabina Rd. in the 400 block of Perry Twp. and as he approached a northbound vehicle which was spreading grit he applied his brakes and over corrected, losing control and traveled off the right hand side of the roadway, back onto the road and spun around into the northbound land and striking the snowplow.   Mr. Staats was transported to Greenfield Medical Center by units of the Greenfield Life Squad.  The driver of the snow plow, Alan L. Stanley reported no injuries.   Mr. Staats was cited for Failure to Control.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Andrew J. Zeigler of Washington C.H., Ohio was traveling northbound on SR 753 in Wayne Twp. and hit a patch of ice losing control of his vehicle, traveled left of center and went off the left side of the roadway and down a steep bank striking an end post and Ameritech cable market.   No injuries were reported.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Jennifer S. White of Nt. Sterling, Ohio was traveling northbound on SR 41N, north of Blessing Chapel Rd. when she failed to maintain control of the 2002 Toyota she was driving, traveled left of center spinning out into the side of a southbound vehicle driven by Anthony E. Seagraves of River, Kentucky.  No injuries were reported.   Ms. White was cited for Failure to Control.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Susan R. Flowers of Washington C.H., Ohio was traveling southbound on SR 41 when she lost control of the 1999 Isuzu she was driving and exited the roadway, entered a ditch on the west side of the roadway, striking a fence on the property of the Washington Country Club.  Upon arrival of Sheriff's Deputies no operator or occupant was found at the scene.  The owner of the vehicle was locate by the Washington Police Dept. and subsequently arrested for Filing a False Report and Driving under Susp.  No injuries were reported.

THEFT:  An employee of True North Shell in Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that an unknown person obtained fuel in a maroon colored pick up truck and departed the business without making payment.

ROBBERY:  Sheriff Vernon P. Stanforth reported that the Sheriff's Office received a robbery complaint at a convenience store located at 20 Academy St. in Bloomingburg.  Upon Deputies arrival it was reported that an unknown male entered the store and demanded the money from the cash register.  Upon opening the cash register the unknown male grabbed all the money from the drawer and departed the store.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Nicholas E. Smith, age 17 of Washington C.H., Ohio was traveling southbound on SR 41S near the intersection of Rowe Ging Rd. when he reported that he attempted to slow for a vehicle traveling in front of him and failed to slow quick enough at which time he took evasive action traveling to the right of the vehicle striking a utility pole.  No injuries were reported.  Mr. Smith was cited for Failure to Control.

AGGRAVATED MENACING:  Ronnie Crumpton of Washington C.H., Ohio reported that while at his place of business in Bloomingburg, Ohio he terminated an employee.  Following termination, the former employee made threats of serious physical harm towards Mr. Crumpton.  Richard D. Patterson, age 39 of Washington C.H., Ohio was arrested and charged with Aggravated Menacing.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS:  Sheriff's Deputies observed a suspicious person on foot in the area of Schlichter Trucking on SR 41 in Jeffersonville, Ohio.  Upon checking the subject, it was found that the subject had no permission from the owner to be on the property.  A 17 year old Fayette County youth was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespassing.

THEFT:  Midway Mini Mart, Bloomingburg, Ohio reported that an unknown employee took lottery tickets without making payment during work hours.

THEFT:  Patricia Shoop, Jamestown, Ohio reported that while her vehicle was parked at Prime Outlets, unknown person(s) removed the catalytic converter.

THEFT:  Bass Outlets, Factory Shops Blvd., Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that an unknown male and female departed without merchandise without making payment.

BREAKING & ENTERING:  Stanley Tool Corp, Washington C.H., Ohio reported that unknown person(s) were inside their property causing damage.  Upon deputies arrival five juveniles were located inside causing damage to the property.  The juveniles were placed under arrest for being inside the property and causing the damage.

THEFT:  Doug Marine of Doug Marine Motors reported that persons unknown removed several wheels and tires from vehicles on the sales lot and also damaged a window glass to another vehicle parked  at the business.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Jeremy Wilcox of Washington C.H., Ohio was stopping after traveling southbound on SR 41 and attempting to turn left onto Bloomingburg New Holland Rd. when the vehicle traveling behind him, driven by James A. Hostetler also of Washington C.H., Ohio , struck the Wilcox vehicle in the right rear side causing damage to both vehicles.  No injuries were reported.  Mr. Hostetler was cited for Assured Clear Distance Ahead.

LITTERING/ POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA:   The Fayette County Sheriff's  Office received a report of a possible impaired driver on southbound on I-71 north of the Jeffersonville exit.    Sheriff's Deputies arrived to find that two drivers of tractor trailers had blocked the suspect vehicle to avoid further operation of the vehicle.  Michael P. Donnelly, age 28 of Columbus, Ohio was arrested for O.V.I. and additionally charged with possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, littering from a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.

DRUG ABUSE/UNDERAGE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL:  A traffic stop was conducted on SR 41 & Bloomingburg New Holland Rd in Fayette County and during the stop, the operator of the vehicle, identified as Paul J.R. Vansickle, age 18 of South Solon, Ohio was taken into custody and charged with O.V.I., Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Underage Consumption of Alcohol.  A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Bryan T. Axline, age 19 also of South Solon, Ohio was found to be under the influence and was charged with Underage Consumption of Alcohol, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and also discovered to be a wanted person by the Madison County Sheriff's Office for a Probation Violation.

PROVIDING A PLACE FOR UNDERAGE CONSUMPTION:   Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a residence on US 22East after receiving a report of a party involving underage persons consuming alcohol.  Upon arrival, Sheriff's Deputies located and apprehended a juvenile climbing to the outside form a bedroom window of the residence.  During contact, it was discovered that the juvenile, a 16 year old Fayette County youth was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was subsequently charged with Underage Consumption of Alcohol.  The residential occupant, identified as Darby Hodge, age 20 of Washington C.H., Ohio was also arrested and charged with Providing a Place for Underage Consumption.

FIRE:  Sheriff's Deputies responded with Washington FD to a residential fire at 328 Jamison Rd. in Fayette County.  The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire and was extinguished by Washington FD   Fire and smoke damage to the structure and interior contents were reported.   Cause of the fire was unknown at the time of the news report.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Roger D. McCord, age 44 of Sabina, Ohio was traveling south on SR 729 north of West Fork Rd. when he failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the left side of the roadway striking the ditch.   No injuries were reported.  Mr. McCord was arrested for O.V.I.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:  Jackie Morris of Washington C.H., Ohio reported that she and her boyfriend were involved in a physical altercation at their residence on US 22W.  Sheriff's Deputies found that both parties involved were injured in the incident.  Jessie W. Jones, age 24 and Jackie Morris, age 24, both of Washington C.H. were charged with Domestic Violence.

AGGRAVATED MENACING:  Gene Ann Moore of Good Hope reported that a known female threatened her with serious physical harm while outside a residence on SR 753.  Ronda E. Noble, age 46 of Good Hope was charged in the incident.

BURGLARY/THEFT:  Virgil G. Martin of Greenfield, Ohio reported that persons unknown entered his residence and removed prescription narcotics from inside.

BREAKING & ENTERING/THEFT:  A suspicious vehicle was observed at a vacant resident on West Lancaster Rd.  Upon checking the residence, a vehicle occupied by a male and female was observed attempting to depart the residence.  A television set was also observed inside the vehicle.  Upon contacting the owner, Jerry Spahr, it was discovered that the residence had been entered and the television located inside the suspects vehicle had been taken from inside.   Jason S. Holbrook, age 25 and Kimberly J. Miller, age 27 both of Wilmington, Ohio were arrested and charged with Breaking & Entering and Theft.

WANTED PERSON/FUGITIVE:  Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies were requested to attempt arrest of a parole violator at large from the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.  During service attempt of the warrant, the parole violator attempted to flee through the rear door of a residence on US 22W and was taken into custody by Deputies.  Quintin C. Yates, age 25 of Washington C.H., Ohio was incarcerated in the Fayette County Jail awaiting extradition by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.

DEER ACCIDENT:  Rae Ann Williams of Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that while traveling northbound on SR 41N near Wildwood Rd. she struck and killed a deer that was standing in the roadway.  No other injuries were reported.

The investigation into a series of home invasions across three counties in recent weeks has led to the arrest of three people.  The execution of a search warrant by the 23 Pipeline Major Crimes Task Force Wednesday afternoon at 213 S. Seventh Street in Greenfield, Highland County, resulted in the recovery of numerous items identified as coming from burglaries in Fayette and Ross County in recent weeks.  The three persons arrested for receiving stolen property are being held in the Highland County Jail.  Arrested as a direct result of the search warrant were Terry Hester, 213 S. Seventh Street, Greenfield, Ohio, Amanda Adkins, 213 S. Seventh St. Greenfield, Ohio, and Timothy Estle, 225 Garman Lane, Bainbridge, Ohio.  Detectives from Fayette, Ross, and Highland County are continuing the on-going investigation and anticipate additional charges in connection with the crime spree.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Lisa Cox of Washington C.h., Ohio was traveling south on SR 753 when she lost control of the 2000 Dodge she was driving after going around a right hand curve and she struck a parked vehicle at 7180 SR 753.   No injuries were reported.  Ms. Cox was cited for Failure to Control.

VEHICLE ACCIDENT:  Martina R. Coy of Hillsboro, Ohio was traveling north on US 62 in Green Twp. when she lost control of the 2007 HHR she was driving due to snow and ice on the roadway, traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a tree.  No injuries were reported.

BREAKING & ENTERING:  Mary McCoppin of Washington C.H., Ohio reported that unknown persons removed property from the residence after forcing entry through the back door.

TRAFFIC CRASH:  The Fayette County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a one vehicle non injury traffic crash on SR 41 near Washington C.H.  Upon arrival it was reported to Sheriff's Deputies that a 2003 Chevy, operated by Georgiana Brown of Greenfield, Ohio lost control on the snow covered roadway and traveled off the left side of the roadway and sideswiped a utility pole and a telephone junction box.  Ms. Brown was cited for Failure to Control

TRAFFIC CRASH:  The Fayette County Sheriff's Office responded to a two vehicle non injury traffic crash on SR 729 near Hedge Court.   Upon arrival it was reported to Sheriff's Deputies that a 1992 Plymouth, operated by Joyce Upton of Jeffersonville, Ohio lost control on the snow covered roadway and traveled left of center, striking a 1999 Ford operated by Brandi Nichols also of Jeffersonville.  Ms. Upton was cited for Left of Center.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS:  Lorrie B. Bennett of Greenfield, Ohio reported that a known male subject entered her residence without permission.  The male was located at his residence and advised of the complaint and not to return to the complainant's residence.

BREAKING & ENTERING:  A representative of Rankin Repair of Sabina, Ohio reported that unknown persons entered the shop and removed items from inside.

TRAFFIC CRASH:  The Fayette County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a one vehicle non injury traffic crash at the intersection of Palmer Rd. and Old Rt. 35.  Upon arrival it was reported that a 2006 Freightliner, driven by John Caraway of Jamestown, Ohio traveled through the intersection and struck the Palmer Rd. sign before coming to rest in the field.

THEFT:  Louise SKaggs of Jeffersonville, Ohio reported that on 12-31-07 she allowed an unknown female into the residence to use the restroom.  After the female departed the complainant noticed her purse was missing.

BREAKING & ENTERING:  Connie Nelson of Leesburg, Ohio reported that unknown persons entered the Homestead Market by force and once inside removed merchandise.
